Do you use the “Phone Book” ?
Posted on April 9th, 2007I was driving into work this morning and heard a tacky radio commercial for the local “Phone Book”.
It when something like this:
I advertise in the Yellow Book and it has brought me 15% more business…..
My business is doing better than ever after advertising in the Yellow Book……
Advertising is like gas to car if you don’t advertise then you won’t make money…..
Then I thought to myself “When the hell was the last time I used the phone book to look up information?” I do not know when I used a phone book last.
Do you?
Personally, I throw my phone book out or throw it at my neighbor in an act of war!
It is only a matter of time before phone books are gone!

Damn You Yahoo Panama
Posted on March 9th, 2007
Don’t worry I am still alive. I have just been slammed at work. Ok time to rant!Yahoo Panama you piss me off! I am not able to set a time of day schedule for my ads with you. That sucks big donkey balls. I do not want to advertise at 2 am in the damn morning with a limited budget. When I login every morning my account has hit it’s daily spending limit. I want to advertise mid day.
Here is Yahoo’s response:
There is not a way to set up your account so that your ads are displayed online during a certain period of time throughout the day. If you want to keep the ads online only at certain times, you can place the account online and offline manually by clicking on the Administration tab and then on ‘Edit’ under Account General Information.
You are able to set up the amount of days that you want to have a Campaign online for. You can do this by clicking on the Campaigns tab, then directly on the Campaign name. If you click on Campaign Settings, you will find the option for Campaign Budget and Schedule.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.
Damn you! I truly hope you integrate this feature in the future. For now I will spend most of my money with Google Adwords.

CBS Fire Your Internet Marketing Team!
Posted on February 23rd, 2007Whomever is in charge of CBS’s internet marketing needs to get a clue or get fired! Let me tell you why!?
As a Die-Hard “Survivor” fan (I mean crazy crack eating Survivor freak) it pisses me off when I try to get to the offical website to get the latest scoop. Try it. Of course I do not know the domain name off the top of my head so where do I go? Google.com and search for “survivor.” The #1 results reads:
Survivor: Cook Islands on CBS
Official site for Survivor: Cook Islands on CBS. Find cast bios and favorites, read episode recaps, play Survivor games, and watch Survivor Live.
www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor - 15k - Cached - Similar pagesTo the normal internet user it looks like the most valid result, yet click on it. Where do you go? You are 302 redirected to http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor13/. But what the hell that is not the current survivor show. It is last season!
Attention to CBS Internet Marketing Team here are two recommendations for you!
1. If you are doing a 302 redirect please send it the current season. It is not that hard. Redirect to http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor14/
2. Why not buy a unique domain name for each season and brand it during your commercials!? www.SurvivorFiji.com or www.CBSSurvivorFiji.com!
CBS if you do not want to look stupid practice the basics.
Update:
I have sent in a feedback form to CBS regarding this. We will see what they come back with.
