Bing’s Travel Alert Fare Prediction Tool Sucks

I was planning a trip to head up to Seattle for the 4th of July holiday and decided to put Bing’s Travel alert fare prediction tool to work. I let a few days go by and did not see any significant fare rate drops, so I decided to do some looking around on my own. I ended up buying tickets directly from the airlines website for less than my set price of $385.

I continued to keep the alerts going to see if eventually I would get a better deal. Looks like I made the right decision. I guess to the tool’s features were too good to be true.

I just don’t get how the government is going to try to regulate something they have no idea about. Or try to apply traditional rules to a non-traditional marketing method.

At the end of the day, the government and Google are going to have to clearly define rules and regulations, but how can they do this without exposing their secret algorithm?

If You Build It They Will Not Come

So I was talking to a neighbor of mine last night and he mentioned he was going to be creating a ecommerce website.

Because Im such a nice guy I told him that I could look at the site to make sure it was SEO friendly.

Then I asked him “How are you going to promote the website?”

He replied “O yea promotion is everything. I will get the traffic.”

I said “You going to do PPC, SEO, Media?”

He said “Not sure, but you gotta spend money to make money.”

I said “It can get expensive if you do not know what you are doing.”

He said “Well this is more of a test project I am doing so we will see.”

I was so shocked that my neighbor thought that if he just built a ecommerce website that then the traffic and money flows in. It just that easy.

For the love of JeeeBusss its not that easy!
