3 Simple ways to Increase Your Adsense CTR.

I just wanted to take a brief moment to share some information I have gathered through experience regarding increase your CTR with adsense.

1. Try to place at least one ad with in the page fold. (Page fold is the area of the website that can be seen without scrolling down) Most visitor might only visit your site for a few seconds and you do not want that time to be spent scrolling down.

2. Blend your ads to match your website color scheme. Make them look they belong on the site. Seems like common sense but I have seen a lot of site over look this step.

3. Place images next to your ads. This will draw attention to your ads. Make sure to place a separating line or border between the ads and the images. Also, do not use images that are directly correlated with the ad. IE if you has a Playstation 3 website do not place pictures of the game console next to the ads. You could use generic gaming controls or fun avatars.

You may not see this strategy on this website, but I practice this on several website and get a ctr of around 10-15%.

My First Adsense Payment!

I just saw my first adsense payment deposited into my bank account today during lunch. Damn I am proud of myself for my first check. Yes it is not x,xxx but its a starting point. I have been only running adsense on a few site for the last 3 months and have seen some small success. Hopefully it there is a snowball effect to this.

You might want to know what I am going to do with the first check? Well I am going to get a nice bottle of wine for gal and a bottle of Capitan for me and then reinvest the rest back into the sites. I figure I have a small amount to capital to work with and I should build on it.
