For Xmas I got a killer home brew kit. However I did not get a wort chiller.

I ran down to Home Depot and got the following items all for under $40.

So I got 1/4 copper tubing and I need attachments to fit it my garden hose. I talked to one of the home depot guys and we ended up getting 3 pieces that basically go to a 1/2 diameter to a garden hose. (15$)

    1/4 copper tubing 20 feet (15$)

The copper tubing already comes spiraled so I streched and modified to my liking.

Final wort chiller product! Tied it off with some 1/2 plasitic tubing and hose clamps. ($10).

Overall it is not that pretty but it kicked ass! It dropped my 2.5 gallon wort from 210 degrees to 90 degress in less than 10 mins!

    Hope this helps!

    1. Nice DIY project. I did this same thing. It was easy to add another section of copper tubing to make it cool faster or for 5 gallon batches. Mine looks terrible but works good. Just have to watch the hot side hose clamps.
