Over the weekend it dawned on me that I really need to update my social profile avatar.
Here is what I used to use:
I originally picked this red cross image because I thought “Imnotadoctor” has doctor in it and it might work. It was simple and loud, but it didn’t speak of my brand or the look of my site.
What is my brand?
I like to think it is a punk rock / gothic / tattoo loving persona that loves SEO.

Warning - By no means in hell am I a graphic artist. I do what I can. If there someone out there can make a better one please do!
Now it is time to update all my social profiles!

Update:
After some great criticisms from friends I have updated my avatar once again! I think it is best of both worlds.

I think that you need to go back to the cross. You have developed such a strong brand with that in the SEO community! And it is a good avatar because it is simple and stands out! I used to be able to pick you out of a lineup of comments or avatars from mybloglog or twitter in a heartbeat. Now all you do is fade into the mix with all of the other avatars.
You can still be punk rock without a punk rock avatar.
