Its has been one week since I have come back from my amazing trip to New Orleans and now that I am caught up with my work I wanted to let everyone know about the trip.
Unfortunately I do not have my pictures uploaded yet, but once I do I will update the post.
Thursday
I arrived Thursday afternoon and went straight to my hotel “The Country Inn and Suites” to meet my fiance who was their since Sunday for a Starbucks Convention. The hotel was pretty nice. Rooms where clean, staff was nice, and location rocked (walking distance to everything). It did the job!
After check in my fiance insisted we go straight to Mother’s for a bite to eat. Holy crap their food is amazing.

They have some much to offer, but I enjoyed their “Poy - Bo” with “Debris”. Its basically a sub sandwich with amazing freshly cooked meats smothered in the bits of roast beef that had fallen into the gravy.
For a snack we got a muffuletta sandwich. So good.

That night we hit the town and went down Bourbon Street where we found a coolest dive bar called “Swamp Shot”. This place specialized in ice cold shots in shot glasses made out of ice. After you are done taking your shot you have to throw your shot glass against the wall or floor. Wow it was an amazing stress releaver!
Friday (Halloween)
Woke up waaaay late and went to Cafe Du Monde home of fluffy donuts coverd in powered sugar called Beignets!
That night we got all dressed up and painted the town with blood! My fiance went as dead little red ridding hood and I went as a modern werewolf. We looked scary as shit. It was a blast scaring people. I saw some of the most ridiculous Halloween costumes in my life on Bourbon Street.
I recommend that everyone go to New Orleans for Halloween at least once in their life time.
Saturday
That night we went out to dinner at Mulate’s and ate the following:
- Frog Legs
- Grilled Alligator
- Fried Oysters
- Fried Catfish
- Stuff Mushrooms
- Fried Craw fish
- Fried Crab Legs
- The world’s greatest Bread Pudding covered in a butterscotch rum sauce!
As you can tell it was amazing.
Then later that night we took a Vampire Tour which was creepy as hell! After that tour I am convinced that vampire do exists.
Sunday
Did nothing much! Walked around a bit. New Orleans was starting to catch up to us.
Monday
Flew home!
Overall, the trip was just amazing and plan on going back soon. One of the most disheartening part of the whole trip was seeing how fucked up New Orleans still is 3 years after Katrina. You could tell moral was down, business were still shut down or just starting to rebuild. Yea the tourism was back, but even as a first time visitor you could tell something was missing.
